This is amazing
The only thing properly organised in my life is my bookshelf. Everything else is a mess.
Oh, God, I wish even my bookshelf were organized…. I have nothing….

Oh my god. ‘men will actually respect women more if they see women showing compassion to them’. If you want women to show you compassion, don’t fucking rape them.
If you need me I’ll be in the angry-dome.
You know, the first time I stab you in the face, it’s just me getting carried away. JESUS, HAVE SOME COMPASSION. You’re not DEAD or anything! It’s just a social misbehavior, GODDDDDDDDD.
And they wonder why we cheer when we hear about women beheading or otherwise disposing of their rapists. Why? Because society has decided we don’t deserve justice or compassion. Instead they worry about the poor rapists. Lord help me if I ever hear a dude say this in person because I may very well go after him with a fucking weapon.
I’m so angry right now fuck everything
i can’t even read the full article too enraged and yelling at my screen
I am so angry I can hear the blood rushing in my ears
idek why im reblobbing this because i am so fucking mad i cant even deal
W-O-W. Just. WOW. And it was written by a woman, too!
A woman wrote the story, but as a news story, not an opinion piece. We don’t know what the reporter thinks one way or the other. The call for mercy came from a man who was quoted in the story.
It is fucking sick, in any case.
What the actual fuck. Violating someone else’s body is not an oops, sorry, don’t punish me, I made a mistake. It’s a fucking crime.
I’m so fucking disgusted.
Things you might say if you’re a physicist with no biology, psychology, genetics, or food science knowledge.
Seriously, Neil. I respected you. I liked you. You were this beacon of intelligent, scientific hope.
And then you went and did that.I hope you regret this.
Wow. I am devastated.
It doesn’t take a science or medical degree to know that plenty of fat people don’t overeat. And plenty of thin people do.I particularly feel bad for any young girls who look up to Mr. Tyson; who are inspired by him to become scientists but also struggle with their body image. This is heartbreaking.
He has a long history of saying complete bullshit. This is not the first time.
NOOOOOOOOOOO. Neil deGrasse Tyson…………….. sigh. There really is nobody, is there.
Wisconsin Gov. Walker joins War on Women.
ThinkProgress: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) has thrown his support behind an anti-abortion measure that’s currently moving through the state legislature, saying he will sign the bill into law if it makes it to his desk. SB 206 would require women to undergo an ultrasound before getting an abortion — which would mandate an invasive transvaginal probe for some of the women who seek early abortions in their first trimester — and force one of the state’s last abortion clinics to close its doors.
“I don’t have any problem with ultrasound,” Walker told reporters on Tuesday in Milwaukee. “I think most people think ultrasounds are just fine.”
Forced ultrasound bills mandate a medically unnecessary procedure that would otherwise be left up to the discretion of a woman and her doctor. Medical experts, including the largest national group representing thousands of OB-GYNs across the country, are opposed to this type of legislation because they say it interferes with their work and compromises their relationships with patients. “All of a sudden, the Senate is full of doctors,” Wisconsin Sen. Tim Cullen (D) said in reference to SB 206′s advancement.
You know, I would very much like Scooter to explain to me exactly what it is that women supposedly don’t know about their pregnancies. What new information would an ultrasound give them? What bit of ignorance about their own bodies is this supposed to clear up? Be specific please: just how incredibly stupid do you anti-choicers believe that women are?
The truth is that they’re simply a roadblock to getting an abortion; just one more hoop to jump through, in the hopes that some women will think it’s not worth the effort. In short, the explanation for why this unnecessary procedure should be required are lies. As always, the most fanatically religious among us are the biggest liars and the least trustworthy Americans.
Of course, this is just Walker’s way of shoring up his conservative bona fides before a possible presidential run. He’s hoping that attacking women will excite the base enough to look past his inexcusably gross economic incompetence. But if we’ve learned one thing in recent years, it’s that this War on Women stuff may get you through the GOP primaries, but that this level of extremism will keep you out of the White House.
And thank goodness for that. Scott Walker is unfit to lead a sing-along, let alone a nation.
“I don’t have any problem with ultrasound. I think most people think ultrasounds are just fine.”
Okay, then maybe we can shove an ultrasound probe up your reproductive organs every time you have sex. Why, you ask? Oh, suddenly we need medical reasons?
So the USA commits a genocide and then uses the images (and sometimes derogatory slurs/caricatures) of the decimated people as mascots for sports teams, and we’re supposed to look at that as a sign of respect?
My coworker is a huge Blackhawks fan, and since I’ve literally never watched hockey in my life, I was shocked to find out that their mascot was not a black hawk, as I had assumed, but a racist stereotype. And when I mentioned that to her, she was like, “I don’t really see the problem….”
Sigh.
This is happening close to where I live.. Thoughts?
I consider it a bit rude. It pretty much is saying that nonvax parents are illiterate and retarded. This isnt a decision we make easily. It is a decision we make after a metric ass ton of research and talks.
I am selecting which vaxs to give to Ezra and it’s on a specific schedule. What about the kids who are allergic to the ingredients in them? Are you going to force them to get it? That’s rude.
I selective vax. Maybe the class should include the bad things too- like how some vaccines contain live viruses and cells from the lungs of aborted fetuses. Yeah, and they think we’re uneducated.
Um, which vaccines contain aborted fetus lungs? According to my research, the initial vaccines were grown in cultures using aborted fetuses, but no actual fetal remains are in any vaccines.
It is undetermined whether or not said vaccines actually have residual cells or not, but I am NOT willing to take that chance. I think it’s ethically disgusting and kind of makes me think of cannibalism. The vaccines that contain WI-38 and/or MRC-5 are: Adenovirus, chickenpox, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, HIB, Hep-A, Hep AB, MMR, MMRC, rabies, rubella, & shingles. That is straight off a chart that (when requested) my doctor gave me. Most of those vaccines have alternatives, but not all.
So based on the very very small chance that there *might* be left over fetal matter (despite no actual fetuses being used since the 60s), you are willing to put your child’s health and life in jeopardy? Ok then.
I’ve heard many stupid reasons for not vaccinating.
This one takes the cake.
Behold, the stupidity of anti-vaxxers in the commentary above. Anyway, I think it’s a good idea, as long as there is an exemption for the parents of kids who are allergic to vaccines. (Which, ironically, make it even MORE important that the kids who aren’t allergic do get their vaccines.)
I really love the “vaccines contain live viruses” argument. That’s…. um…. kind of the point of vaccines…
This may be exactly why people who choose not to get vaccines (other than due to allergies) need some science education. Though to be honest, I doubt they’ll pay any attention to it…
Also, avoiding a vaccine that was developed using cells from an aborted fetus because you don’t approve of the abortion isn’t really going to bring that fetus back to life or change anything about the fact that the abortion already happened, but it is going to put a lot of people who are actually currently alive in jeopardy if your unvaccinated children spread disease to people who cannot get vaccines.
